We are very excited with the progress of The Grove construction, framing should be complete in the next week. However, our building plans and nature had a conflict this week when the designed roofline came in contact with a 100+ year old live oak tree. We shut down the framing for half a day and brought in our landscape architect (thank you Brent Baker, Studio 16:19) and our GC, who came up with a work around. The final score is: 100 year old oak tree – 1, Roofline – 0. When you visit The Grove and wonder how we missed a particular corner of the roof, know that it is a pure example of compromise.
As we sit on the edge of Brushy Creek at the Grove, we marvel at the oak trees here for a 100 years before we became stewards of the property. What amazing things they have seen in the growth of Round Rock. Our goal has always been to highlight the amazing piece of nature we are privileged to share with others. Plan on the amazing trees that surround us to win every time so they can remain another 100 years.
